Thanks, Mike, for this timely history lesson. Also begs the question, how does the U.S. expect to win WWIII without Black troops and officers? I'm guessing they hope that robots and AI will replace the need for actual people but that is delusional thinking.

And let's not forget the anti-fascist Lincoln Brigade in the Spanish Civil War, the first American integrated military unit. Nor the African American nurse Salaria Kea, who volunteered with the International Brigades in 1937, having helped desegregate Harlem Hospital's staff dining room and provided inspiration to the oppressed peasants in Spain that they could have agency in improviing their condition.
